Families looking for an affordable and high-quality preschool are invited to attend an open house hosted by The Good Shepherd Preschool at 2221 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401 on Friday, April 16, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
No appointment is needed. Parents will have an opportunity to meet the preschool staff, take a tour of the facilities, enjoy refreshments and bring home information.
New families that enroll their preschooler by April 16 will receive a 10 percent tuition discount for the 2021-2022 school year. Families with children enrolled in the preschool can also earn $100 toward their child’s tuition if they refer another family that successfully registers a student as well.
Operated as an educational ministry of Highway Assembly of God, the preschool offers a strong academic program for children ages 3-4 that integrates Christian character and biblical truths into every area of learning.

Early childhood education experts maintain that brain development is highest during the first four years of life. The brain is forming important neural paths to help develop a child’s ability to perform and function and learn well.
“With these facts in mind, our staff at The Good Shepherd Preschool is passionate about early childhood education and is focused on the development of the total child,” says preschool director Gary Wagner.
“Our teachers create a nurturing environment to stimulate learning, permit social interaction, and foster a feeling of security and self-confidence in a play-based atmosphere.”
The preschool offers a half-day program from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, as well as a full-day program until 3:30 p.m. Additional services offered include before-school care from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and after-school care from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Preschool facilities feature spacious classrooms, a large gymnasium and a shaded, fenced playground.
